Bronze museum in Inverness

Located in Megantic county's former Courthouse, this econo-museum has a micro-foundry which sheds light on the techniques used to work with bronze. You will have the opportunity to see, touch (with a white love offered at the entrance) and purchase the works of Québec artists on display in the boutique and gallery. The museum also offers collective works. A member of the Québec econo-museum network.

Jardin de vos rêves (garden)

Jardins de vos Rêves is a five-acre garden nestled in the heart of the Appalachians between Victoriaville, Plessisville and Thetford-Mines. The garden features a mix of styles owing to various contributions the owners have received and ideas gathered on travels. The owners have been developping the garden since 1975 focussing on five main elements: wood, earth, fire, metal and water. Special thought is given to recycling and environmentally friendly methods. Art collective on site for painters and scupltors.

Patrimonial site of St-Jacques-de-Leeds

When passing through this pretty little village, one of the oldest in our region, be sure to stop off at St. James Anglican Church. This unusual eight-sided church, built in 1831, the Leeds Model School (1896) used during the summer as a theatre, the Alexander Rectory which dates back to 1837 and the Sunday River School (1890) are all historical reminders of the Irish who settled in the area. The heritage site offers guided tours during the summer.

Historical Site of Kinnear's Mills

Héritage Kinnears' Mills is an organisation dedicated to preserving the municipality's rich past. It offers guided tours which begin at the Methodist church that also houses an exhibition. Historical enactment in period costumes.

Thetford Mines Mineralogical and Mining Museum

Discover minerals from all over the world and the mining history of the areas at the Thetfod Mines Mineralogical and Mining Museum. Come and visit a lot of exhibits.

Learn more about the mineral resources of the asbestos region and its mining history at its world-wide reputation museum. You will have the opportunity to discover not only the evolution of the asbestos over 125 years but also exceptional minerals from all over the world.

At the museum like in any other science centres you will learn and enjoy yourselves with our guides. Interactive games and workshops are organized for the whole family to discover how to recognize  minerals and to help you start your own collection, to experiment your own skills as "gobeur" (old technique) of "gobage" in the mines), you can also put on aminer suit and learn more about the evolution of this job.

Mine tours

Join us in a mine tour and discover the multiple faces of the mining industry and it's importance in our region.

Get ready for an extraordinary adventure into one of the largest asbestos mines in operation in Quebec. Your tour includes a visit to the lookout point, a presentation of asbestos-based products, a trip down into the open pit and stops at the extraction, bagging and shipping areas.

The visit, to the heart of the mine, will impress you when you see the size of the exploitation, the big trucks and the mechanical shovels needed to extract the mineral from the earth.

The visit lasts around 2 hours.

Individual guided tours:
From June 19 to September 5
June & September: start at 13h30
July & August: start at 10:30-1:30-3:30
The starts will be made with a minimum of 10 people from the Mineralogical Museum of Thetford-Mines.
It is preferable to reserve.

Les Sentiers pédestres des 3 Monts de Coleraine

Mont Adstock Center (alpine skiing)

The region of Thetford-Mines is a destination where the abundance of snow favours winter activities such as: snowmobile, Quad, downhill skiing, cross country skiing.
